How does a rehearsal work?
The regular rehearsal show is on Tuesdays from 1300 to 1700h or Sundays between 1400 to 1800h.
The rehearsal stage prepares you for your show. You can test your concept, practise procedures, familiarise yourself with the technology and also make mistakes! For orientation, you and the programme council will receive a report after the rehearsal stage. You make an appointment with the programme council to discuss your concept and your desired broadcasting slot. The programme council then decides whether you will get a slot on Radio Helsinki with your concept.
1. Procedure of the rehearsal stage on tuesday (note: on sunday we start at 14:00h!):
- 13:00 to 14:00h: Preparations in the studio
- 14:00 to 15:00h: Live broadcast: Duration max. 55min.
- 15:00 to 16:00h: Feedback and discussion in the studio
- 16:00 to 17:00h: Creation of a programme on CBA
2. Titel / Text and maybe one picture of your show
- Title of the show
- Description of the show (should arouse curiosity, be written concisely yet stimulatingly): topics, stories, guests, quotes,
3. Estimate your effort
- Broadcast alone or with guests?
- Music contributions?
- Recorded contributions: e.g. interviews, atmos, other audio pieces
Do you use USB, LP, CD, MD? Audiofiles should be mp3, ogg, flac or wav (but no mp4, aiff or others).
4. Dramaturgical programme sequence: How do you structure your programme? Which and how many chapters does it consist of?
- Jingle: Do you already have a jingle?
- Presentations: Introductory presentation, transitional presentation, end of presentation
- The introduction: should arouse curiosity, provide an overview, but not give too much away.
- Transitional moderation: Link the individual chapters of your programme and also welcome listeners who have tuned in later. Repeat your programme idea, refer to the station (Radio Helsinki).
- End of programme: summary, farewell, reference to the next programme in the programme.
- Note: You should be finished with your closing presentation 5 minutes before the next programme! The next programme makers can come into the studio for the handover. This is an opportunity to greet each other and make joint programme handovers. Otherwise: Play five minutes of music as a transition.

Celebrating the rich cultures of languages in Europe and beyond. Today we present our visit at theSprachenfest 2021 which took place at the 24th of September in Graz.

But now let’s jump into the festival. Peninah andSaif took the microphones and went through the location talking to the different organisations.
